Replacing Missing Teeth
A missing tooth is never just about appearance — it affects how you eat, speak, and how the rest of your teeth align.
Many patients in India live with missing teeth for years, assuming replacement is too expensive or complicated. At GardenCity Smiles, we offer options for every situation and budget — from simple removable dentures to permanent implants that last a lifetime.
Dental Implants
The only replacement that feels like your own tooth.
A titanium post is placed in your jawbone and a custom porcelain crown is attached on top. The result is a tooth that looks, feels, and bites exactly like a natural tooth — and it can last your entire lifetime with proper care.
📍 Best for: Anyone missing one or more teeth who wants a permanent, no-compromise solution.
⏱ 3–6 months total (includes healing time)
✅ Prevents jawbone loss that occurs when a tooth is missing
Crowns & Bridges
Restore a damaged tooth or fill a gap — fixed in place, no removal needed.
A crown caps a damaged or root-canal treated tooth to give it full strength and natural appearance. A bridge uses the two teeth on either side of a gap to support an artificial tooth in between. Both are permanently fixed in your mouth.
📍 Best for: Anyone missing one or more teeth who wants a permanent, no-com📍 Best for: Broken teeth, post-root-canal protection, or replacing a single missing tooth without implants.promise solution.
⏱ 1–2 appointments (single-visit with CAD/CAM)
✅ CAD/CAM technology means same-day crowns are possible
Removable Dentures
Affordable, comfortable teeth you can remove for cleaning.
Complete or partial dentures replace multiple missing teeth using high-quality acrylic and porcelain. Modern dentures are far more natural-looking than what your parents generation had, and they restore the ability to eat, smile, and speak with confidence.
📍 Best for: Multiple missing teeth or full jaw replacement where implants are not suitable.
⏱ 3–5 appointments over 3–4 weeks
✅ Most affordable tooth replacement option
Full Mouth Rehabilitation
When multiple teeth across both jaws need rebuilding from the ground up.
Some patients come to us with teeth that have been neglected for years — extensive decay, multiple missing teeth, worn-down surfaces from grinding, and a bite that no longer works properly. Full mouth rehabilitation combines implants, crowns, bridges, gum treatment, and orthodontics into one coordinated plan.
📍 Best for: Extensive decay, multiple missing teeth, severe grinding damage, or failed previous dental work.
⏱ 6–18 months depending on complexity
✅ Complete transformation of function, health, and appearance

Saving Infected or Damaged Teeth
Most teeth that patients think need extraction can actually be saved. Root canal treatment has an unfair reputation — modern RCT is nothing like the stories you may have heard.
Tooth pain from infection is one of the most common reasons people visit us. The fear of root canal treatment stops many patients from seeking care early, which always makes the problem worse and more expensive to fix. At GardenCity Smiles, most root canals are completed in a single comfortable appointment.
Root Canal Treatment
Save your natural tooth. Stop the pain. Done in one visit.
Root canal treatment removes infected tissue from inside the tooth, cleans the root canals thoroughly, and seals the tooth permanently. The nerve is gone — the pain goes with it. Your natural tooth is saved. This is almost always a better outcome than extraction.
📍 Best for: Severe toothache, tooth abscess, or teeth that are painful to bite on.
⏱ 60–90 minutes (single visit in most cases)
✅ Over 95% success rate — saves teeth that would otherwise be lost
Single Visit Root Canal
Walk in with pain, walk out treated — all in one appointment.
Using rotary endodontic instruments and digital X-rays, we complete the entire root canal procedure in one sitting. No returning for multiple appointments, no temporary fillings, no extended treatment periods. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable and fast the process is.
📍 Best for: Busy professionals, patients with dental anxiety, or straightforward infection cases.
⏱ 60–90 minutes, one appointment
✅ Fewer injections, fewer visits, same excellent result
Laser Assisted Root Canal
Maximum disinfection. Minimum discomfort.
After mechanically cleaning the root canals, a thin laser fibre is passed inside each canal. The laser eliminates bacteria hiding deep within the microscopic tubules of the tooth — areas that instruments and liquid irrigants cannot reach. This is especially valuable for complex infections or root canal retreatment cases.
📍 Best for: Severe infections, retreatment of previously failed root canals, or immunocompromised patients.
⏱ 90 minutes (single visit)
✅ Reaches bacteria 1,000 microns deep into dentinal tubules

Treating Gum Disease
Bleeding gums are not normal. They are a sign of infection — and left untreated, gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults across India.
Studies suggest over 80% of Indian adults have some degree of gum disease. It is painless in the early stages, which means most people don’t realise they have it until significant damage has already occurred. The earlier we catch it, the simpler and more successful the treatment.
Laser Gum Surgery
Remove diseased gum tissue without a scalpel. Heal faster, bleed less.
A dental laser precisely removes infected gum tissue inside deep pockets and simultaneously kills the bacteria causing disease. There is no scalpel, minimal bleeding, no stitches in most cases, and healing is significantly faster than traditional gum surgery.
📍 Best for: Moderate to advanced gum disease, patients who want minimally invasive treatment.
⏱ 1–2 hours per session
✅ No scalpel, no sutures, dramatically faster recovery
Scaling & Root Planing
The thorough deep clean that targets gum disease where it actually lives.
Scaling and root planing is not the same as a routine clean. It goes deep below the gum line to remove hardened tartar deposits from inside the pockets between your teeth and gums — the bacteria-packed environment where gum disease develops. Root surfaces are then smoothed so bacteria find it harder to reattach.
📍 Best for: Early to moderate gum disease (pockets 4–6 mm), bleeding gums, bad breath linked to gums.
⏱ 2–4 sessions of 45–60 minutes each
✅ Evidence-based first treatment for periodontitis
Flap Surgery
When gum disease has gone deep — direct access to save your teeth.
When deep cleaning alone cannot reach the full extent of the infection, flap surgery allows direct access to the root surface and underlying bone. The gum is gently opened, thoroughly cleaned, and sutured back at a healthier level. Bone grafting can be added simultaneously for cases with significant bone loss.
📍 Best for: Advanced gum disease with pockets deeper than 5–6 mm that have not responded to deep cleaning.
⏱ 1–2 hours per section
✅ Saves teeth that would otherwise face extraction
Crown Lengthening
More tooth, better smile — or the space needed to save a broken tooth.
Some patients come to us with teeth that have been neglected for years — extensive decaCrown lengthening removes excess gum tissue (and sometimes a small amount of bone) to expose more of the tooth. Used to create room for a crown on a tooth that has broken near the gum line, or to treat a gummy smile where too much gum shows when you smile.y, multiple missing teeth, worn-down surfaces from grinding, and a bite that no longer works properly. Full mouth rehabilitation combines implants, crowns, bridges, gum treatment, and orthodontics into one coordinated plan.
📍 Best for: Tooth broken below the gum line needing a crown, or gummy smile correction.
⏱ 45–60 minutes
✅ Saves teeth that appear too short to crown, or reshapes an uneven gum line

TMJ & Jaw Pain Treatment
Jaw pain, clicking, headaches on waking, earache with no infection — these are TMJ symptoms that dentists trained in orofacial pain can diagnose and treat.
TMJ disorders are widely underdiagnosed in India. Many patients see multiple doctors for headaches, ear pain, or facial pain without realising the jaw joint is the source. Dr. Deepthi Kalahasti is an American Board Certified Orofacial Pain Specialist — one of the very few practitioners in Bangalore with specialist-level TMJ training.
Splint Therapy
A custom appliance that gives your jaw muscles and joints the rest they need.
A precisely fitted hard acrylic splint worn at night stops the teeth from grinding against each other and positions the lower jaw in its most relaxed, muscle-friendly position. Splint therapy is the first-line, non-invasive treatment for most TMJ disorders and teeth grinding — it is evidence-based, reversible, and highly effective.
📍 Best for: Night grinding, morning jaw pain, tension headaches, TMJ clicking, tooth wear.
⏱ 2 appointments to fit; worn nightly long-term
✅ Non-invasive, reversible — the right first step for most jaw pain
TMJ Orthotic Therapy
For complex TMJ cases — repositioning the jaw, not just protecting it.
A repositioning orthotic actively moves the lower jaw to a new, therapeutically correct position — unlike a standard night guard which holds the jaw where it already is. Used specifically for disc displacement within the joint, this specialist treatment requires precise bite recording and calibrated appliance fabrication.
📍 Best for: Disc displacement, jaw locking, painful TMJ clicking, complex cases not responding to standard splint.
⏱ 3–9 months of active therapy
✅ Specialist treatment by an American Board Certified Orofacial Pain Specialist
Low Level Laser Therapy
Pain relief without medication — safe, painless, and effective.
Low level laser therapy (LLLT) uses a cold laser applied to the jaw joints and muscles to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and improve blood flow. Each session is 15–20 minutes, completely painless (patients often feel a gentle warmth), and requires no recovery time. A course of 6–10 sessions produces significant pain reduction.
📍 Best for: Jaw muscle pain, joint inflammation, limited mouth opening, adjunct to splint therapy.
⏱ 15–20 minutes per session, 6–10 sessions
✅ No medication, no needles, no recovery — immediate relief
Arthrocentesis
A 30-minute minimally invasive procedure that can unlock a stuck jaw.
Arthrocentesis involves placing two fine needles into the jaw joint space under local anaesthesia and flushing the joint with sterile saline. This washes out inflammatory chemicals, breaks down adhesions (scar tissue) that cause locking, and stretches the joint to restore movement. Most patients experience immediate improvement in mouth opening.
📍 Best for: Jaw locking (closed lock), persistent joint pain after conservative treatment, inflammatory arthritis of the TMJ.
⏱ 30–45 minutes, day procedure
✅ Immediate improvement in jaw opening in 70–80% of patients
Questions from Patients
Things Patients Ask Before Booking
Straight answers — no dental jargon.
I have tooth pain. What should I do first?
Call us on 9663823300 for a same-day or next-day appointment. Tooth pain always has a cause — decay, infection, crack, or gum disease — and early treatment is simpler and less expensive than waiting. Take paracetamol or ibuprofen for temporary relief, but do not delay the appointment.
How do I know if I need a root canal or an extraction?
In most cases, a root canal is better than extraction because it saves your natural tooth. An extraction leaves a gap that causes adjacent teeth to drift and bone to shrink. We always assess whether the tooth can be saved before recommending extraction.
Is dental treatment at GardenCity Smiles expensive?
We believe quality dental care should be accessible. We offer transparent treatment plans with all costs stated upfront — no surprises. Payment plans are available for larger treatments. Treating problems early is always significantly less expensive than treating them after they worsen.
I am scared of dental treatment. Can you still help me?
Absolutely. Many of our patients were anxious about dental treatment before visiting us. We explain every step before beginning, never rush, and use the most comfortable techniques available. Local anaesthesia ensures you feel no pain. We also offer sedation for patients who need extra support.
My gums bleed when I brush. Is that serious?
Bleeding gums are always a sign of infection (gingivitis or periodontitis) — not normal. The good news is that early gum disease is completely reversible with professional cleaning and improved home care. Do not ignore it — advanced gum disease leads to tooth loss.
How often should I come for a dental check-up?
Every 6 months for most adults. Patients with active gum disease, high cavity risk, or ongoing TMJ treatment may need more frequent visits. Regular check-ups detect problems when they are small and inexpensive to treat.
